Apply First Aid online has been developed in conjunction with the Queensland Ambulance Service. This course is an awareness course only and suitable for those looking to learn about first aid and/or refresh their knowledge. This course prepares you to respond to emergency situations by providing you with the skills and knowledge in first aid treatment. It is based on the Nationally Recognised Training course Apply First Aid – HLTFA301B.

Also available is the shorter Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course. This course provides you with the skills and knowledge to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in an emergency situation. It is based on the Nationally Recognised Training course Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) – HLTCPR201A.

In the Queensland Ambulance First Aid awareness course, you will learn how to deal with:

• Responding to and managing an unconscious casualty
• Performing CPR
• Communicating details of the incident
• Respiratory and cardiac emergencies
• Bleeding and shock
• Acute medical emergencies
• Musculoskeletal injuries
• Traumatic injuries to the head, spine, chest, abdomen and pelvis
• Poisons, bites, stings and extremes of temperature

In the Queensland Ambulance CPR awareness course, you will learn how to deal with:

• Responding to and managing an unconscious casualty
• Performing CPR
• Communicating details of the incident
